Stair Inspiration Video (week 3)

This video portrays delicate and detailed carving from stone that makes the artwork feel apart of the structure, this is the feeling I wish to achieve with my upper staircase being carved out of the building.

Sketchup - Stair Models (week 2)

BOTTOM STAIRCASE - REVIVAL CYCLES - This staircase responds to the adjective 'Industrial' and thus is constructed entirely of steel with a rough and unpolished finish. The staircase utilizes many welded joins and steel bars to further emphasize this industrial imagery.

TOP STAIRCASE - STEINWAY & SONS - This staircase responds to the noun 'Art' as it forms as apart of the building exterior as if it has been carved out of the building. The material chosen is stone masonry to match that of the building and add depth to the 'carved' concept.
