My Work. Great Architecture. A Beautiful Photograph. (week 0)

This image illuminates everything I love about architecture, taking what you know and love, transforming and recreating it as something new and unfamiliar, and in turn learning to know and love the transformation for what it was and what it is and what it will be as time passes.

I took this image walking to the park with my baby cousin. She is over the moon because she's entering the playground, she sees what adults don't see. She sees happiness in the smallest things, and this is why this photograph is beautiful to me.

This will be my life's work because it seems to never end. It looks great on the surface but this guitar I've built from a cursed plank of wood is fundamentally flawed. I constantly work on fixing and re-fixing this instrument and I seem no closer to the end than I was a year ago. It has taught me about resilience and taught me to be proud of my work, even if it remains eternally unfinished or is abandoned as a failure and that's important.
